Mitel Minute Update: Mitel Releases Teamwork for MiCloud Connect Customers

In this Mitel Minute Update provided by your favorite Mitel Platinum Partner, we will be addressing the latest notice regarding the introduction of Mitel Teamwork for MiCloud Connect Customers.  

What is Teamwork?

Teamwork is a messaging and collaboration application that users of the MiCloud Connect can use to enhance their internal communications and collaboration efforts.  Teamwork is used for holding discussions, posting files, creating workspaces for large and small teams, and receive instant messages.

Who Can Use Teamwork?

According to the bulletin, it will be available as part of the Mitel Connect Desktop 1810 build for MiCloud users.  Don't be confused, this is not for users of the on-prem solution which was previously ShoreTel Connect, now Mitel MiVoice Connect.   

Teamwork is for MiCloud Connect users at this time.

Will it Be Available for MiVoice Connect Users or Only Cloud?

Teamwork was originally a Mitel product and right now it is being rolled out as an available option for cloud users on MiCloud Connect.  However, as a Mitel Partner we know that there is a focus on Teamwork for future plans and we anticipate it being rolled out to on-prem users at some point in the future. 

When we know, we'll let you know. 

Is it Automatically Included?

Teamwork will be bundled with the Connect Desktop and users that have the following service plans will have access to it. Otherwise you will not have access to Teamwork.

  • MiCloud Connect Essentials
  • MiCloud Connect Premier
  • MiCloud Connect Elite

Teamwork is also ONLY available to MiCloud Connect users in North America.

Is There Anything Else to Know?

Yes, we'll just copy and paste what Mitel states in the bulletin on page 5:

"Furthermore, Mitel recommends deploying both Mitel Teamwork for Desktop and Teamwork for Mobile together (in conjunction with Connect desktop and Connect mobile) by MiCloud Connect customers in order for them to benefit from a complete communications and collaboration experience any place, at any time."  

In other words, deploy everything together so users get the full experience of being able to use it from anywhere, which is one of the main key purposes of this type of collaboration tool.
